KAL/CALs

The only KAL either of us are participating in is the ‘Cast on the Dead’ knit-a-long with Desert Vista Dyeworks. The plan is to cast on either one of her ‘Zombody’ or ‘If they kill…’ colourways on the night of the premiere of The Walking Dead or Fear the Walking Dead and finish the project before the SERIES finale.  You need to post the starting photo and finished photo in the thread on her Ravelry group to enter.

FOs and HOs

Katy finished the Rose City Rollers using Peepaloo Fields sock yarn in ‘Extra Pink Roller Rink’ and a Newborn Vertebrae using Tanis Fiber Arts Blue Label Fingering yarn in the colourway ‘Blueberry’

WIPs

Val’s working on a dish cloth using Bernat Handicrafter cotton in a lovely shade of corals, white and turquoise.

Katy is working on the afterthought heel socks by Laura Linneman using ‘Zombody Loves Ewe’ by Desert Vista Dyeworks and also the Reyna shawl using her handspun out of ‘Darkside of the Room’ by Spun Right Round.

Needs and Wants

Val needs to get her butt in gear and go to the gym.
Katy needs a break, she’s stressed, yet again… 😦

Katy and Val both want the new Platinum Rose personal planner from Webster’s Pages due out in April 🙂

Val wants to go and visit her Dad again soon, she had a lot of fun the last time she went.
Katy wants to go and see Ghostbusters this summer!

Katy learned about Periscope and now she has her own account (kittyvankat) and The Stitch Sisters has an account as well (stitchsistersca).

You had me at Yarn!

Val was had at Pattern when she saw Mrs. Hughes’ Afghan, which is a perfect tie-in for our Downton watching 😉

Katy found Toil and Trouble on Etsy and really loved the ‘Snapdragon’ and ‘Ent’ colourways!

New Stuff

Val got a couple really cool Funko Pop figures when she went to visit her Dad; one was Pinkie Pie and the other was Mycroft Holmes.

Katy got a couple DVDs, Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice. She also picked up a couple kits from the Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery; the Christmas Celebration Sampler and ‘Wool Ewe Be My Neighbor’.

Reading, Watching, Listening!

Katy finished reading the Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare and really enjoyed it! Now she’s reading ‘Frostfire’ by Amanda Hocking and ‘The Iron Thorn’ by Kaitlyn Kitteredge.

Both Val and Katy are watching Downton Abbey, The Walking Dead and they were both able to see Crimson Peak (at different times but that’s ok) 😉 Val also got to watch Spectre and Katy’s been watching more of WWE.

Katy’s been listening to the same stuff she has been for the last little while; Adele, Ed Sheeran, DNCE and she really likes Ellie Goulding’s new song ‘Something in the way you move’.
